Target import
involves importing medicines, which are not registered in Poland but are necessary to save patient’s life or health. This kind of import of medicines is triggered by the demand of a hospital or a physician, confirmed by a consultant in relevant field of medicine and approved by the Minister of Health. A medicine not registered in Poland can only be imported based on a completely and accurately filled request, bearing original signatures and stamps.
Emergency import
involves importing a medicinal product that features a marketing authorisation and is authorised for marketing in the country from which it is imported, and at the same time it is not available in Poland. An emergency import is possible upon obtaining a marketing authorisation by a pharmaceutical wholesaler from the Minister of Health./p>
